Benefits to You

A tummy tuck, while not an alternative to diet and exercise, can dramatically reduce your belly bulge by removing excess skin and fat from your midsection and tightening your abdominal muscles. Dr. Ashley K. Lentz believes that the best candidates for tummy tucks in Central Florida are women or men in relatively good shape who want to:

  • Flatten a belly that bulges due to excess fat or separated muscles
  • Reduce or tighten sagging skin caused by pregnancy or weight loss
  • Remove or reduce stretch marks from pregnancy or weight fluctuations

Keep in mind that an abdominoplasty is not a weight loss procedure; only a small amount of fatty tissue is removed during surgery. Patients need to be at or near their ideal body weight before being approved for a tummy tuck.

They also must be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle after surgery to not risk reversing their results. For women considering having more children, Dr. Lentz recommends waiting until your family is complete before undergoing this procedure.

The Tummy Tuck Consultation

In your consultation with Dr. Ashley K. Lentz, you will discuss your specific concerns so that they can help you visualize what can be accomplished with surgery and then create a plan for achieving them. In some cases, abdominoplasty can be performed alone; in others, it is best combined with liposuction or breast augmentation to achieve the most appealing results.

How Much Does a Tummy Tuck Cost?

The cost of a Tummy Tuck will depend on several factors. The price can be affected by body type, type of technique performed, surgical complications, and even allergies. Find out more by scheduling a consultation.

Dr. Lentz will perform your Tummy Tuck surgery at Advent Health Daytona Beach or Halifax Health Hospital - Port Orange.

Every surgery carries the risk of a complication, including elective cosmetic surgery. Complications are rare, but they do occur. CosmetAssure provides you with insurance coverage in the unlikely event a complication occurs with a board certified plastic surgeon. CosmetAssure is a solution to the lack of coverage for medical complications that can occur during or after your surgery.

What to Expect

Dr. Ashley K. Lentz performs abdominoplasty as either an outpatient or inpatient in the hospital, staffed by highly trained surgery technicians. She uses only general anesthesia so you remain asleep throughout the procedure.

Next, Dr. Lentz will make the necessary incision, which typically runs along the bikini line so that it’s concealed when you’re wearing a bathing suit. She will then remove a predetermined amount of excess skin and fat tissue, possibly also repositioning the belly button to ensure your results look natural.

Additionally, the abdominal muscles may be pulled together and tightened. Once these tasks are complete, Dr. Lentz will suture and bandage the incision.

Tummy Tuck Recovery

After a tummy tuck, you can expect to return to light activities within 2 to 6 weeks and resume your normal routine, including exercise, in about 6 weeks. You will notice your new, slimmer profile immediately, but you may not see the final results of your surgery until all swelling has subsided.
