"Communication is the most critical aspect of patient care. Results must match expectations. Without excellent communication, expectations cannot be matched. I spend a lot of time with my patients trying to determine what is the best operation for personal success and achievement of patient goals. "
An arm lift in Ormond Beach is the best way to get rid of stubborn upper-arm flab and excess drooping skin. Traditional arm exercises may not be enough to address excess fat, and no amount of exercise can tighten loose hanging skin. An arm lift removes the excess skin and fat while tightening the underlying tissues, creating a sculpted and well-defined arm shape.
The skin on the upper arms becomes loose and sags because of factors like age, gravity, genetics, and dramatic weight loss. An arm lift improves the arms’ contours, making them look more toned and contoured.
Ideal Candidates for Arm Lift Surgery
To be a good candidate for an arm lift, you must first be a healthy adult who is not diabetic, is a non-smoker, and has a stable weight that does not fluctuate. You must also have enough skin elasticity in the upper arms.
It is important to have a positive outlook for your brachioplasty surgery. You should also be able to commit to maintaining a healthy lifestyle after the procedure since this is the best way to avoid developing arm flab in the future.

Your Consultation
Dr. Ashley K. Lentz will work with you during your consultation to determine if arm lift surgery is right for you. A review of your medical history will be conducted to evaluate your compatibility to the procedure. Dr. Lentz may also perform a basic physical check-up and request lab work to evaluate your current health.
After going through this process, Dr. Lentz will create a surgical plan that suits your needs and aesthetic goals.
The Procedure
Arm lift surgery on average takes up to three hours and is performed under general anesthesia. The brachioplasty procedure starts with an incision on the underside or back of the arm, from the armpit to the elbow. Next, fat deposits are removed using liposuction, which means the fat is vacuumed out through a cannula.
Underlying tissues are then tightened with internal stitches for a sleeker and redefined arm shape. Dr. Lentz drapes the skin over the new contours of the arm, and the excess skin is removed with a scalpel. Finally, the incisions are closed with sutures.

Healing and Recovery
You will need several days of downtime after your arm lift surgery and a few weeks for proper recovery. Your arms will be wrapped loosely with elastic bandages for protection after the procedure. Dr. Lentz may suggest a compression sleeve to prevent post-surgical side effects for the next few weeks.
Further instructions for arm lift aftercare will be provided, such as not lifting the arms above the shoulders for at least four weeks. Sports and other rigorous activities should be avoided for four to eight weeks to prevent damaging the incisions. Painkillers and oral or topical antibiotics may be prescribed to reduce discomfort and the risk of infection.
Arm Lift Cost
The cost of an arm lift surgery varies from patient to patient based on details like the complexity of the work performed. The overall price of brachioplasty may be impacted by surgical fees and anesthesia fees.
